Welcome to the 2014 Supreme Windows $1,000,000 Amateur Golf Classic, a tournament held in support of the Rotary Club of Calgary South “Stay In School Program” . The support of our sponsors and golfers in this tournament helped us raise more than $150,000 for the Stay in School Program. By assisting us through your participation in this Tournament, you have made it possible for academically gifted, but economically challenged students to achieve a college or university education.
Here are some of the great moments from our 2014 event
Rules of the Tournament
The tournament format for the 2014 Supreme Windows $1,000,000 Amateur Golf Classic will be a 4-man, 3 best ball modified Stableford. “Gimmes” can be taken only if they are inside the “leather” or “grip” of a standard putter. Handicaps will be determined by the organizing committee and confirmed with each player at registration. Conversion of “Gross Scores” to “Stableford Points” and addition of the team’s three best balls will be done by Cottonwood’s Professional Staff. The captain of each team should record only the Gross Score of each player on the scorecard provided.
Men will play from the Bronze tees. Ladies will play from the Yellow tees.
We have planned a very full day of activities for you – thus, speed of play is of great importance. Once a player has shot a net double bogey, that player must pick up their ball and quit playing that hole. Should a team fail to keep up with the pace of play, that team will be asked to pick up all their balls and proceed to the next hole resulting in a team score of zero Stableford Points on that hole.
In the spirit of fair play, all players must be considerate to their opponents. Replace or fill any divots, rake sand traps and fix any ball marks. Summer rules of the RCGA govern this tournament.
In addition to the Stableford tournament, each player has a chance to participate in the
$1,000,000 Shoot Out.The three players who are closest to the pin on each of the four Par 3 holes will participate in a $1,000,000 hole-in-one competition. That competition will take place at the end of the tournament, at the 18th green, shooting from a revised tee set at a minimum of 165 yards from the green.
Please note that for insurance purposes we must have 12 separate people participate in this competition. Therefore, if a player should be fortunate enough to be in the top three closest to the pin on more than one hole, we will use the fourth place person, etc. All decisions made by the organizing committee will be final.
Prize money for all Hole-In-Ones is only paid to the first person to get a Hole-In-One in each competition (i.e. a Toyota or Lexus on each of the Par 3s and $1,000,000 for the Shoot Out for a maximum, potential pay-out during the tournament of $1,100,000). There will also be $100 for any player in the Shoot Out who hits the green, plus proximity prizes for closest to the hole, etc.
