Boss Lubricants is a Manufacturer, Wholesaler and Distributor of Premium Industrial and Commercial Lubricant Products. Dedicated to service, quality and dependability, BOSS excels in a range of services that include blending, packaging, terminalling and warehousing and distribution.
Arlyn Enterprises Ltd., trading under the name BOSS Lubricants (BOSS is an acronym for bulk oil sales and service), is committed to providing quality products and outstanding service to industrial and commercial businesses throughout Canada and the Northwestern United States of America. We are a manufacturer and supplier of premium engine and transmission lubricants, natural gas engine and compressor oils, greases, glycols and similar products.
BOSS Lubricants’s headquarters are in Alberta, but we ship our products throughout Canada and to 5 Northwestern states in the USA. Besides our main office/plant in Calgary, we also have branches in Toronto, Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Saskatoon, Regina, Brandon, Plamondon and Vancouver. We also work with many independent distributors throughout our service area.
Murray J. Flegel founded Arlyn Enterprises Ltd. on October 1st, 1992 in Calgary, Alberta. Before opening up his own business, Murray had gained lubrication expertise through 37 years of working with Texaco Canada Ltd. and Canadian Turbo Inc., moving from the ground floor to District Manager/Manager of Lubrication Division.
W.K. (Bill) Dickson joined Murray as an equal partner in February of 1994. BOSS made a significant corporate move in 1996/97, purchasing a similar-sized competitor and relocating the combined company into new facilities to achieve a business plan focused on efficiency and effectiveness.
Manufacturing and Packaging Facilities
Our manufacturing facility is close to main trucking routes and railways in Calgary. It contains a large tank farm complete with two Pulsair® blending lubricant tanks, three Pulsair® glycol blending tanks to blend all types of antifreeze and other coolants, and a packaging line and drum reconditioning system, all contained indoors. A dedicated piping system eliminates product mix and line flush. The combined facility is also used for terminalling (movement of products on dedicated lines from tank-cars to trucks), packaging for third parties, and overnight storage of our trucking fleet.
Our Regina branch now includes a drum refurbishing and pallet construction facility, which handles all of our company’s drum and pallet requirements.
BOSS has a solid base of clientele along with stable employees and excellent purchasing power. A majority of our clientele has stayed with us from their initial contact, accept modest price increases that match industry trends, and believe in consistency and better quality products. These clients also enjoy the technical service we provide as well as our outstanding same-day delivery service. Our experienced employees, who have been with us for a number of years, enjoy better than average salaries, coupled with a very attractive benefit plan, which includes a company sponsored RRSP.
